Crosscutters Hang 8-6 Loss on Black Bears
The Williamsport Crosscutters topped the West Virginia Black Bears, 8-6, in New York-Penn League action at Bowman Field. The standout performance belonged to Williamsport pitcher and Stafford, Texas, native Jason Pressley. Mike Sweigart got credit for the win, improving to 6-4. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 2.1 innings. With the win, Williamsport raised its record to 28-17.

In the bottom of the sixth, Williamsport right fielder Mike Mason put his team on top. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit his 10th double of the year. West Virginia pitcher Arturo Flores served it up. Just like that, the Crosscutters were ahead, 5-4.

"The most important thing is that we won," Pressley said.
