Blue Jays Edge Past Cardinals, 3-2
|
The Bluefield Blue Jays took Johnson City pitcher Francisco Haro's best shot and still were able to claim a win at Bowen Field. The final score had Bluefield getting past the Cardinals, 3-2. Haro went 6.2 innings and allowed no runs, striking out 6. Bluefield currently is in 5th place in the East at 28-31.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the tenth inning, when Bluefield second baseman Victor Mazariegos, facing Netuno Afilhado, had a run-scoring hit-by-pitch. It gave the Blue Jays the 3-2 win.
"Our guys just had that look of determination," said winning manager Chris Jeffreys.
