Tides Tack 3-2 Loss on Knights
|
Roberto Aguilar pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Charlotte Knights, despite Aguilar's fine outing, dropped a 3-2 decision to the Norfolk Tides at BB&T Stadium. Jamari Shaw, the winner, improved to 8-3. He held the Knights to 2 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 2 and walking 2. Kevin King was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.
Jarrett Crawford, who leads the IL in bases on balls with 48, came through for Norfolk with a run-scoring double in the top of the sixth. The second baseman went 2 for 4 for the game, including 1 home run and 1 double. He scored 2 runs and collected 2 runs batted in.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Charlotte manager Zach Strecker, "let me know."
With the win, the Tides have a record of 36-37.
