Fightin Phils Rally For 4-3 Win
The Reading Fightin Phils faced a tough opponent in Altoona pitcher D.J. Pittaway, but did just enough to pull out the victory at People's Natural Gas Field by a final score of 4-3. Pittaway went 5.2 innings and allowed no runs. Adrian Wiggins picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 4-11. David Cullison was tagged with the loss. Erik Hill, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 3rd save.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Tony Ayala came to bat in the top of the ninth. Facing Altoona pitcher David Cullison, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Reading on top, 4-3.

"A great team win and something real positive we can build on," said Ayala after the game.

Reading is now 47-80.
