Cota Leads RockHounds to Win
The Midland RockHounds topped the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 11-6, the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Jose Cota. On the day, Cota went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 5 for the RockHounds. Dan Lash earned the win to go to 5-7. He allowed 6 runs on 8 hits, with no walks and 4 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. The RockHounds saw their win-loss record go to 28-53. At the same time, the Naturals fell to 44-37.

Midland took control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Andy Phillips hit a run-scoring single to make it 7-6, RockHounds.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Midland skipper Shawn Pierre Rodriguez.
