The Wilmington Blue Rocks got a sterling performance from pitcher D.J. Gibson, but the Potomac Nationals still prevailed, 9-4. Gibson came in in relief and pitched to 21 batters. Dave Almaraz came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2.1 innings. His record now stands at 2-1. Xavier Crawford earned the save for Potomac, his 1st of the year.

Luis Quiroga had a big hit for Potomac in the top of the first inning. With Potomac leading 3-0, Quiroga hit a 2-run double. It was his 12th double of the season and put the Nationals up, 5-0.

"I had a great game, I don't know how else to explain it," Quiroga said with a grin. "Jupiter was aligned with Mars, I guess."

Their 49-66 record puts the Nationals third in the Northern Division.
