White Sox Deal Rangers 6-2 Setback
|
The Chicago White Sox dealt the Texas Rangers a 6-2 loss at U.S. Cellular Field. Luis Marquina was the star on offense. He was 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. Hector Canadas, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. Matthew Emerson, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save.
The Rangers had been locked in a 2-2 tie with the White Sox going into the bottom of the fourth inning. That changed quickly when the 2098 AL home run champion Dan Roos came to the plate. Roos hit a 3-run home run on a 2-1 slider from Texas hurler Imre Wenner. It was Roos's 7th home run of the year.
"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Roos.
The Rangers continue "in the red" at 7-15.
