Marshall Super -- No-Hits Gwinnett Friday, August 14th , 2099 Fans at Frontier Field got a rare gift today as Alberto Marshall of the Red Wings tossed a no-hitter against the Gwinnett Braves. Although Marshall did not appear to have his best stuff in the early innings, he turned masterful as the game went on, ultimately striking out 16 and walking 1 in a 6-0 Rochester victory. "We had our chances in the first few innings when he was hittable, and we couldn't capitalize on them," Gwinnett manager Sean Nussbaum said later. "In the last four or five innings, he totally shut us down." In all, Marshall faced only 29 batters. While getting into his groove, he was helped by several defensive gems. "I don't remember a better-pitched game," Red Wings manager Ryan Lowell said. "And how about our defense today?" So far this year Marshall has delivered 1 save.
