Week's Best Player Honored by NL Monday, May 4th , 2099 The premier performer in the National League this week was Jose Lara of the Washington Nationals. The hot-hitting 28-year-old first baseman put up a .440 average and .462 on-base percentage, piling up 11 hits in 25 at-bats, 5 home runs, 11 RBIs and 6 runs scored. That kind of hitting got him the NL Player of the Week honors. This season Lara is swinging the bat at a .348 rate with 32 hits in 92 at-bats. To date he has hit 7 home runs, scored 10 runs and driven in 22. |
