Wilson Goes Hitless, Streak Stopped at 21
Monday, May 4th , 2099
For once, it was the Pittsburgh Pirates picking up the slack for Randy Wilson.

The club's "offensive catalyst," as Pittsburgh manager Merlyn Evans has frequently called him, went uncharacteristically silent today and saw his 21-game hitting streak snapped by the Atlanta Braves. Wilson was bailed out by the rest of the Pirates, however, who stopped the Braves, 6-0.

The 25-year-old center fielder finished the day 0-for-3, and told reporters at the postgame press conference that "everybody did their job but me."

"Not that it was a huge problem -- we still won the game," he said with a grin. "The streak was a good run though. I'll try to start another one tomorrow."

For the year Wilson is hitting .333 with 5 home runs. His stats include 17 RBI and 13 runs scored.
