The Arizona Diamondbacks and the Chicago Cubs have agreed to a trade that will send 29-year old 2B Will Driscoll and 31-year old CF Jonathan Morales to Chicago, while 24-year old minor league LHP Nick Aymond, 27-year old minor league RHP Zaire Charles, and 20-year old minor league 1B C.J. Griffith will be shipped to Arizona. A top front office executive with the Diamondbacks described the trade talks as “quick and easy.” “We’re glad to get this deal done. We think it’s something that helps our ball club and it didn’t take too long at all to sort this one out,” he said.
Driscoll‘s career batting average is .300. In 280 games, he has gotten 311 hits, 27 home runs, 118 RBIs and scored 156 runs.
In his 90-game career Charles has put up a 4.89 ERA and fanned 178 hitters in 186 innings. His career record stands at 6-8 with 1 save.
