|
Masataka Kato made an impact in the 9-4 San Francisco win over Minnesota. Kato, who is tied for 4th in the NL in extra base hits with 16, went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. San Francisco pitcher Rick Rudd got the win, upping his record to 2-0. Josh Schumann got the loss. The loss lowers the Minnesota record to 17-12.
Early in the game, Kato had a 3-run home run for San Francisco. It was his 7th home run of the season and put the Giants on top, 4-1.
"The boys were really swinging the bats today," winning manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon said.
