The New York Yankees got a superb performance from shortstop Chris Clark. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Tampa Bay. The Rays won the game, 5-3. Clark hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice. The save was credited to Todd Curley, his 7th. The win has Tampa Bay at 14-16.

Ryan Takach, the 26-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Takach contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning to put Tampa Bay up, 3-2.
