The Philadelphia Phillies picked up a win at Citi Field, knocking off the New York Mets, 5-2. On the mound for Philadelphia was right-hander Rick Whitley. He played a key role in the triumph. The save went to Roger (Eben) Penn, number 7 for him. With the win, Philadelphia is 14-16.

Craig Dolan drew 1 walk for Philadelphia. With one out and the game tied in the top of the sixth inning, Dolan, who finished 3rd in the NL in home runs with 45 last year, had a clutch at-bat. Facing New York hurler Sean McNees, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the Phillies a 1-0 lead.

"We'll hit the hot tub in good spirits tonight," said Whitley.
