Angels Earn 4-3 Win Versus Astros
|
The Los Angeles Angels picked up a win at Minute Maid Park, taking down the Houston Astros, 4-3, in 15 innings. On the mound for Los Angeles was right-hander Fred Szilagyi. He played a central role in the triumph. Richard Clare notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2.1 innings. His record now sits at 2-0. Aaron Gallucci, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 1st save.
Los Angeles used the timely hitting of Tim Gillette to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 15th inning to put the Angels on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Szilagyi.
Los Angeles, now 11-21, is off to a slow start.
