Blue Jays Lose to Mets, 5-4
No one was more impactful than Mario Vasquez in the 5-4 New York win over Toronto. Vasquez was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Sean McNees, the winner, improved to 2-2. He held the Blue Jays to 3 runs on 4 hits over 6 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 3. John Rood, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.

With New York trailing 3-1 in the bottom of the fifth, Vasquez hit a sinker from Billy Demeter for a grand slam home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Mets ahead, 5-3.

"Mario is still learning," said Mets manager Rodney Smith. "The sky's the limit for him."

New York is off to a sluggish start, getting just their 10th win in 30 games.
