Stanislaw 3-for-4 to Power Orioles Offense
|
The Baltimore Orioles beat the New York Yankees, 8-2, at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. Jason Stanislaw, who is on pace for 74 RBI this season, starred for Baltimore. He was 3-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 3. The winner in relief was Marco Duran. He is now 3-0. The left-hander allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. Baltimore currently is in first place in the American League East Division at 17-16.
With Baltimore leading 2-1 in the bottom of the second, Stanislaw hit a sinker from Ben McKie for a 2-run home run. It was his 5th home run of the season and put the Orioles ahead, 4-1.
"What a lackluster performance," lamented losing manager Mike Hanson.
