Getting an impressive start from Nick Avery, Houston beat Los Angeles by the score of 4-1. Jose Guerra closed the door for Houston, picking up his 2nd save of the year. The Astros sit in second place in the American League West Division with a record of 18-15.

Julian Rodriquez had a big 2-run home run for the Astros in the bottom of the sixth inning. With Houston leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from Mike Cerretani, who finished 3rd in the AL in ERA with 3.35 in 2106, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Astros on top, 4-0.

"My job is to go out and execute," said Avery.
