Cubs Rough Up Rockies, 8-2
|
The Chicago Cubs thumped the Colorado Rockies, 8-2, at Wrigley Field. Amir Shaw was a big reason his team got the win. Shaw hit 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 5. With the win, Chicago raised its record to 18-15.
With Chicago leading 4-1 in the bottom of the seventh, Shaw hit a fastball from Gustavo Becerra for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Cubs ahead, 8-1.
"No time for flexing," said Shaw. "It's always one game at a time."
