Seattle Decked by Miller, Angels
Riding the 4-hit performance of the 28-year old right fielder Ed Miller, the Los Angeles Angels defeated the Seattle Mariners, 8-0. Kenneth Cluett got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 2 hits and no runs, while striking out 7 and walking 5. The victory gives Los Angeles a record of 19-14.

Jason Johnson had a big 2-run home run for the Angels in the top of the fourth inning. With Los Angeles leading 2-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a splitter from Tony Walsh, who is tied for 2nd in the AL in strikeouts with 47, and swatted a home run to left. It was his 4th home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Angels ahead, 4-0.

Said losing manager Jonah Beckenstein: "The list goes on and on of things we just flat out didn't do."
