Orioles Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Toronto got a valiant performance from pitcher Billy Demeter, but it wasn't enough to beat the Baltimore Orioles. Baltimore won the game, 3-2. Demeter threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. The Orioles saw their win-loss record go to 19-14. At the same time, the Blue Jays fell to 12-21.
Joe Maxwell came through with a big-time hit for Baltimore. The left fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Toronto manager Rodney Smith said, following the tough loss.
