The Colorado Rockies and Texas Rangers obliged fans looking for a good time.

The Colorado Rockies overcame a fine performance by Texas third baseman Kevin Hock to defeat the Rangers, 6-5, at Colorado Field. Hock went 2 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Colorado reliever Kevin Kulik was the winner. His record is now 2-0. The losing pitcher was Kelyn Norlander. Earning his 3rd save of the year was Doug Craig.

The Rangers had been locked in a 3-3 tie with the Rockies going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 25-year old left fielder Glenn Sewell came to the plate. Sewell hit a run-scoring double on a first pitch fastball from Texas hurler Kelyn Norlander. It was Sewell's 6th double of the year.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Sewell, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."

The win makes Colorado 17-16.
