The New York Yankees overcame a good performance by Minnesota right fielder Greg Schuler to knock off Minnesota, 9-8, at Target Field. Schuler was 3 for 5 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 and driving in 2. New York reliever Brandon Moore was the winner. His record is now 1-1. B.J. Williams took the loss. The Twins have now dropped 5 straight.

New York used a timely hit from Matt Foulds to get the win. The catcher stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put the Yankees ahead, 9-8. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it made an impact.

Foulds told the New York Daily: "I'm the straw that stirs the drink."
