Kansas City right-hander Matt Heidt pitched his team to victory over the Baltimore Orioles at Oriole Park at Camden Yards. The final score was 2-1. The Royals improved to 13-22.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Scott Griffith? The 23-year old right fielder Griffith stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put Kansas City up, 2-1. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
