Hustle Tag Dodgers with 4-2 Loss
|
The exploits of left fielder Jose Nuncio, who is on pace to hit 43 home runs this season, helped the Las Vegas Hustle defeat the Los Angeles Dodgers, 4-2. Nuncio was 4-5 with a home run and 3 singles, while scoring 2 runs. Las Vegas reliever Alexis Fuentes was the winner. His record is now 5-2. Justin Walsh took the loss. Ryan McLellan, who finished 3rd in the NL in saves with 43 in 2108, nailed down the save.
Las Vegas won the game in part because of Colin Bridgens. The second baseman ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Hustle ahead, 3-1. For the game, Bridgens had 1 double and 1 home run in 2 at-bats.
Bridgens called the win a test of his team's "mettle."
With the win, Las Vegas raised its record to 19-15.
