O.co Coliseum was the site of a remarkable pitchers' duel.
The Minnesota Twins beat the Oakland Athletics, 2-1, at O.co Coliseum. Starting pitcher Greg Hoppe was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. Hoppe picked up the win for Minnesota, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 4-4. Chad Coslow closed out the game, earning his 1st save.
Billy Hinson provided a timely hit. The Minnesota left fielder delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the sixth inning to put the Twins on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.
Hoppe told the media after that game that the mood in the clubhouse is "extremely positive" after a win like that.
With the win, the Twins have a record of 16-19.
