Reds Beat Atlanta, 3-2
|
The bats were silent much of the day at Coca-Cola Field. But Dave Truax conjured up just enough offense to carry the Reds past the Atlanta Braves, 3-2. Truax went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. The Reds now own a record of 20-16.
Truax had a game-changing home run in the top of the ninth. On a full count cutter from Burke Rohrabaugh, he banged a solo home run to right, giving the Reds a 3-2 lead. It was the 7th home run of the year for Truax.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Truax told the Cincinnati Daily.
