Bottger Lifts Mets to 10-5 Triumph
|
A 5-RBI performance from the former first round draft pick Jason Bottger helped the New York Mets beat the Chicago Cubs, 10-5. The Mets now have a record of 11-23 with the win over Chicago.
With New York leading 7-4 in the top of the fifth, Bottger hit a fastball from Joel Duffy for a 2-run double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Mets ahead, 9-4.
"Winning is hard sometimes," said Mets manager Rodney Smith. "This one was nice to get."
