Philadelphia Beats San Francisco, 7-4
|
The Philadelphia Phillies dumped the San Francisco Giants, 7-4, in large part due to first baseman Quincy Herbert. On the day, Herbert went 3 for 4 with 3 singles, while scoring 2 times for the Phillies. Philadelphia reliever David Piedrahita picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Nigel Joseph absorbed the loss. Philadelphia is now 17-18.
Deshawn Martin helped his team take an early lead with a 2-run single. It came in the first inning, making the score 4-0, Phillies.
"I don't lose sleep over a loss," said Herbert. "But I have better dreams after a win."
