The Houston Astros beat the Detroit Tigers, 5-3. Houston pitcher and Sydney, Australia, native Yao-pang Yun led the way. Jeff Hank finished to wrap up his 7th save. The Astros raised their record to 16-22.

Houston used a well-timed hit by Cesar Mejia to capture the win. The center fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Astros ahead, 4-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

"Yao-pang did a good job keeping the game under control," said Houston manager Zeb Currier.
