Twins Fall, 8-4, to Brownfield, Mariners
|
Getting a good performance from first baseman John Brownfield, the Seattle Mariners defeated the Minnesota Twins, 8-4. Brownfield went 2-4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4 for the Mariners. Seattle now sits in second place in the American League West Division at 20-15.
With Seattle leading 3-1 in the top of the fourth, Brownfield hit a sinker from Orlando Basurto for a 2-run triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Mariners ahead, 5-1.
"Losing feels worse," said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling, "than winning feels good."
