Rays Win Nail-Biter in 14
|
The Tampa Bay Rays topped the Cleveland Guardians, 5-4, in 14 innings. Tampa Bay right fielder Danny Ba, in particular, was impressive. He was 4-6 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2. The setback makes Cleveland 14-22.
Ba had a game-changing home run in the top of the 14th. On a first pitch sinker from Jacob Magaw, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Rays a 5-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Ba.
"You play a lot of one-run games," said Tampa Bay skipper Kyle Delgado, "and it seems there's one play somewhere in there that changes the game."
