|
Pitcher Joel Kull was rock solid in helping the Minnesota Twins beat the Boston Red Sox, 7-1. Kull got the win, improving to 3-3. He gave up 7 hits and walked 0 over 8.1 innings. He allowed 1 run. The win puts the Twins at 16-21, while the Red Sox drop to 17-19.
Edwin Hernandez, who leads the AL in total bases with 94, took Boston hurler Dave Salvaggio deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Twins on top, 2-0. In all, Hernandez had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.
"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Hernandez told the Minnesota News.
