Blue Jays Fall Short at Chicago, 7-6
|
The Chicago Cubs overcame a good performance by Toronto right fielder Ramon Anguiano to knock off Toronto, 7-6, at Wrigley Field. Anguiano went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 4. Chicago reliever Ryan Ahlstrom picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Domingo Tamayo shouldered the loss. With the win, Chicago goes to 22-16, while the Blue Jays fall to 23-14.
The Cubs procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Israel Perez. In the bottom of the 11th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"What a buzz," said Perez after it was over.
