Twins Top Mariners to Even Record
|
The Minnesota Twins got a stellar performance from pitcher Jon Meger, who handcuffed the Seattle offense en route to a win, 4-2, at Target Field. Matt Gromaski closed the door for Minnesota, picking up his 5th save of the year. The triumph puts Minnesota at 19-19 for the season.
Minnesota took advantage of an error in the bottom of the seventh inning. The game was tied, 2-2, when Nick White hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put Minnesota in front, 3-2.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Minnesota manager Chris Greuling.
