Rockies Victorious at New York, 8-5
|
The Colorado Rockies topped the New York Mets by a score of 8-5. Leading the way was right fielder Isaiah Mason. Mason went 3-4 with a triple, 2 singles, and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Rockies. Ruben Velazquez picked up the win with 7.1 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 7 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 4-2. The last-place Rockies go to 17-21.
With Colorado leading 3-2 in the top of the sixth, Mason hit a sinker from Gil Hormann for a 2-run triple. It was his 4th triple of the season and put the Rockies ahead, 5-2.
