Mets Sneak Past Rockies, 5-4
|
Behind the hitting of Curt Tolley, the New York Mets clipped the Colorado Rockies, 5-4. Tolley was 3-5 with 2 home runs, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Mets. Kerry Moreno, now 2-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The loss makes Colorado 20-18.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With one out, Tolley hit a fastball from Danny Dudley for a solo home run. The Mets, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"I hope this win gives us a jumpstart," said Tolley.
