Tallman Leads Pirates to 9-5 Win Over Giants
|
The Pittsburgh Pirates downed the San Francisco Giants, 9-5, the largest share of the credit belonging to third baseman Mark Tallman. On the day, Tallman hit 3 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored three times for the Pirates. The win makes Pittsburgh 23-16.
Tomas Voivodic drew 1 walk for Pittsburgh. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the ninth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Ivan Sandoval. It was his 24th RBI of the season.
Said losing manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon: "'I liked the effort, just not the results."
