Fairweather Smacks 5 Hits for Yankees
|
Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the New York's 9-4 win over Baltimore, right fielder Eric Fairweather was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Oriole Park at Camden Yards.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Fairweather said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
Eric Fairweather hit a solo-shot off Jose Savala in the 1st, grounded out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
Thus far this year, Fairweather is hitting .284 with 2 home runs, 15 RBIs and 19 runs scored.
