Pirates Get Clutch Win Versus Las Vegas
Las Vegas Ballpark was the site of an exciting ballgame between the Pittsburgh Pirates and Las Vegas Hustle.

The Pittsburgh Pirates spoiled a good performance by Las Vegas shortstop Chris Anderson, bumping off Las Vegas, 10-9, at Las Vegas Ballpark. Anderson was 1 for 2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Willie Lopez was called on to finish, recording his 12th save.

Pittsburgh used the timely hitting of Kevin Hawkins to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Pirates on top, 10-9. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Las Vegas manager Larry Robinson. "The effort was great."

After today's action, Pittsburgh sits at 25-15; Las Vegas slips to 23-17.
