Orioles Beat Rays, 6-0
|
The Princeton Rays inaugurated the 2108 campaign with a disappointing 6-0 loss to the Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles at H.P. Hunnicutt Field. Baltimore (Rk+) first baseman Joe Maxwell had a big impact on the outcome. He was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
Eric Meyers had a big 2-run home run for the Orioles in the top of the fifth inning. With Baltimore (Rk+) leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 21-year old right-handed pitcher Casey Reavis and punished it. The result was his 1st home run of the season, which put the Orioles on top, 3-0.
"I had some good swings out there," said Maxwell.
