Soto Helps Orioles Beat Mariners, 11-4
|
Led by Ramon Soto, the Baltimore Orioles defeated the Seattle Mariners, 11-4. Soto was 4 for 4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Orioles. Dave Christie earned the win, while 25-year old right-handed pitcher Adrian Pendleton took the loss for Seattle. Baltimore is 4th in the American League East Division with a record of 19-23.
Ramiro Amaya, who is on pace to hit 31 home runs this season, took Seattle hurler Adrian Pendleton deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Orioles on top, 2-1. In all, Amaya had 3 singles in addition to the home run, while going 4 for 5.
"We hit the ball hard," said Baltimore manager Zeb Currier. "Line drive after line drive."
