Rays Lose By a Run at Boston (Rk+)
The Princeton Rays could not turn a fine performance from pitcher Manny Gonzalez into a win. Instead, the Boston (Rk+) Red Sox prevailed, 4-3. Gonzalez threw 5.1 innings of 3-hit ball. Boston (Rk+) reliever Jesse Lowman snagged the win, upping his record to 1-0. Willie Reyes shouldered the loss. Lorenzo Chavarria recorded the save, his 1st.

The Red Sox got a big hit from third baseman Joe Huggins. In the bottom of the sixth, Huggins smacked a 2-run double off Princeton pitcher Willie Reyes. It was his 1st double of the season. Suddenly, the Red Sox were ahead, 4-3.

"Nice to get this one," said Huggins. "We've been scuffling."

Princeton, with the loss, is still a hardy 3-1.
