Giants 6-3 Losers to Mets
|
The Kingsport Mets beat the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants, 6-3, at Hunter Wright Stadium. Steve Freeman, in particular, was impressive. He was 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. With the win, Kingsport boosts its record to 1-3.
Josh McDonald drew 3 walks for Kingsport. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the sixth inning, McDonald, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 2104 draft, had a clutch at-bat. Facing San Francisco (Rk+) hurler Matt Sheffer, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Mets a 4-3 lead.
"When there are games to be won, you win them," said Kingsport manager Juan Nunez.
