Red Hot Royals Win Again, 2-1
|
Burlington Royals starter Alonzo Araujo took the mound against the Danville Braves at Burlington Athletic Stadium; and, when all was said and done, the left-hander led his team to an extra-inning, 2-1 win. Burlington reliever Jonathan Polk was the winner. His record is now 2-0. Mario Santiago took the loss. Burlington is off to a hot start at 8-1.
The Royals got a clutch hit from center fielder Robby Rothove. In the bottom of the tenth, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Royals.
"Alonzo gave us a huge shot in the arm," said Burlington manager Jim Vickery.
