The New York Mets withstood an impressive performance by San Francisco center fielder Chris Webster to defeat the Giants, 9-7, at AT&T Park. Webster went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 3. New York now sits at 19-22, while San Francisco falls to 17-26.

Danny Rodriguez, who finished 2nd in the NL in wins above replacement with 6.4 in 2101, helped out the New York cause in the top of the sixth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the left fielder drew 1 walk in 5 plate appearances.

"It wasn't our best performance," said Rodriguez, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
