Orioles Win Nail-Biter in 13
|
The Baltimore (Rk+) Orioles wiggled past the San Francisco (Rk+) Giants, 8-7, in 13 innings at Ballpark of Anchorage. The win was highlighted by the performance of Baltimore (Rk+) pitcher Jimmy Gill. David Santana came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.2 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Baltimore (Rk+) now has a record of 4-4.
Josh Hood went 1-4 with 3 walks for Baltimore (Rk+). The 20-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the top of the 13th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 7-7 tie with a run-scoring walk off Ray Turner. It was his 5th walk of the season.
"Jimmy pitched his heart out," said Baltimore (Rk+) manager Jose Sierra.
