Orioles Keep Chugging, Win, 3-1
|
Nate Coleman never let the Red Sox get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Orioles to a win, 3-1. Coleman yielded 1 run over 6 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 0, and struck out 5. His record improves to 2-0. Boston (Rk+) now is 4-7.
Baltimore (Rk+) used a clutch at-bat from Emilio Martinez to capture the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Orioles ahead, 2-1. It was his lone hit in 2 at-bats, but it was a humdinger.
"This team keeps racking up the wins," said Orioles manager Jose Sierra.
