Streaking Royals Win Another One, 5-1
|
Burlington and Bristol got after it at Burlington Athletic Stadium.
The Burlington Royals defeated the Bristol Pirates, 5-1. First Baseman Josh Leonard deserved a large share of the credit. Leonard was 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Royals. Gabriel Ozuna picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Nate Scrivens was tagged with the loss.
Edwin Gonzalez hit a 2-run triple off Justin Robison in the bottom of the fifth, which put the Royals in front, 3-1. Gonzalez had 1 single, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 2 for 5.
"I feel like we're rolling now," Leonard told the Burlington Daily."The dugout is coming alive."
The win takes Burlington to 10-2.
