Braves Get Better of Nationals, 3-1
|
The Atlanta Braves topped the Washington Nationals, 3-1, with center fielder David Juarez playing a big role. Juarez went 3-3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Braves in the win. Bill Hanley closed the game out for Atlanta, earning his 2nd save. The loss makes Washington 26-17.
Juarez had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a 1-0 cutter from Mike Rios, he banged a 3-run home run to left-center, giving the Braves a 3-1 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Juarez.
"Just trying to keep things simple and helping the team win any way I can," Juarez told a local reporter after the game.
