Giants Get Gritty, 3-2 Win
The umbrellas came out during the San Francisco (Rk+)-Johnson City contest at Howard Johnson Field.

The San Francisco (Rk+) Giants had to weather a strong performance from Johnson City pitcher Masumitsu Ishikawa before claiming a 3-2 win in 10 innings. Ishikawa went 8 innings and allowed 2 runs. The winner was Matt Sheffer in relief. His record improves to 2-0. Jorge Barajas took the loss.

San Francisco (Rk+) used the timely hitting of Paul Brown to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Giants on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Feels good to be on the winning side," said Brown.

Johnson City drops to 6-6.
