Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Bluefield Blue Jays and San Diego (Rk+) Padres.

In a low-scoring game between the Bluefield Blue Jays and the San Diego (Rk+) Padres, pitcher Steve Siefert was the difference-maker. The Bluefield right-hander was tough as nails in the 2-1 Blue Jays win. Siefert went the distance for Bluefield. He gave up 1 run on 3 hits.

In the bottom of the fourth, Dennis McGlamery delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and runners on 2nd and 3rd, the Bluefield shortstop hit a run-scoring single, putting the Blue Jays in front, 2-1.

"Steve did a heck of a job," said Bluefield manager Nate Todaro.
